क्या आप जानते हैं कि किस Generation (पीढ़ी) के हैं आप?
अंग्रेजी का एक बहुत ही commonly used term है “Generation Gap”. अभी कल ही जब मैं TV देख रहा था तब Media से बात करते हुए एक बुद्धिजीवी ने इसका प्रयोग किया… “ the clash between the youngsters and their parents is just because of generation gap.”
मैंने सोचा आखिर ये कितने प्रकार की generation होती हैं और भला उनके बीच कितने kilo meter का gap होता है?
फिर मैंने अपनी research शुरू की और आज मैं आपके साथ इसी research को share करना चाहता हूँ। मैंने अपने शोध को एक tabular form में represent किया है ताकि आप आसानी से इसका सार समझ सकें। ये रहा वो table:

Generations के जो नाम हैं वो demographers* द्वारा study करने में use किये जाते हैं।
Veterans एक आम English word है, जो experienced लोगों के लिए use किया जाता है।
Baby Boomers term London Jones ने पहली बार 1980 में अपनी book , “Great Expectations: America and the Baby Boom Generation”में किया था।
Generation X term का use पहली बार 1991 में Douglas Coupland ने अपने Novel, “Generation X” में किया था।
अब ‘Generation X’के बाद ‘ Generation Y’ और ‘Generation Z’ का आना तो स्वाभाविक ही है । ये देखना काफी interesting होगा की “Generation Z”के बाद की generation को क्या नाम दिया जाता है? यदि आपके mind में कोई interesting नाम आ रहा हो तो हमें अपने comments के through ज़रूर बताएं। क्या पता अगली पीढ़ी इसी नाम से जानी जाये!!!!
नोट: अलग-अलग शोधकर्ता Generations की TIME-PERIOD को लेके एक-मत नहीं हैं। पर आम-तौर पर यहाँ दी गयी details ही ज्यादातर प्रयोग की जाती हैं।
* इंसानी आबादी की study करने वालों को Demographers कहते हैं।

जिस तरह से आज-कल की movies में हर dialogue के बीच में “BEEP” सुनाई दे रही है…..मुझे लगता है नयी generation का नाम Generation-Beep होना चाहिए
